Prince George Forklift License - Acquiring a forklift license or forklift certification in North America will require the one training to do hands-on training in addition to classroom instruction. The federal, state and provincial regulatory bodies are responsible for the training, licensing and certification for powered industrial truck operators. Operators may obtain a license either by a third party or through training administered by the employer. Regardless, regulatory requirements should be met. Recertification is necessary every two to three years.

Forklifts are powered industrial trucks which come together with a variety of alternatives, like sit-down and stand-up. There are different types and sizes of forklift suitable for different industrial uses. Training on a gas-powered, sit-down lift truck inside a warehouse surroundings would not be the same as training on a stand-up, propane-powered lift truck within a shipyard. When using a third party trainer, the certification process will normally consist of an on-site component with hands-on practice.

It must be noted that certifications provided by an employer do not transfer from one employer to the next. Receiving a forklift license through employer-provided training permits the operator to run a lift truck for that particular employer only.

Forklift safety would always be an important factor of the forklift license training, though the specifics of the safety training would be dependent upon the machinery being used. Certain safety issues will differ for each industry and employer. Both third-party providers and employer-provided training might have to deal with extra requirements for safety training in applicable industries, like in marine and offshore uses.
